AUTHOR BIO

 

Dr Sean J. Blamires (Ph.D., University of Sydney) is a Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales. His research interest is spider silks, their evolution, and functional significance of material property variation across nano- to macro-scales. He has collaborative research links all over the world, including with the Institute for Frontier Materials, Deakin University (where he has an honorary Fellowship), Bio 21, University of Melbourne, Macquarie University, Tunghai University, Taiwan, RWTH Aachen University, Germany, University of Akron, USA, Arizona State University, USA, and Universidad de la Republica, Uruguay. He has published over 70 scientific papers on silks and other aspects of animal biology.
